Grilled Honey Infused Herb Chicken

Posted on December 22, 2024 by James Bridges

Spring is in the air, and what better way to embrace it than firing up the grill for a good old-fashioned BBQ, with a twist. Today, we're introducing a classic with a mellow makeover: Cannabis-Infused BBQ Sauce slathered over your favorite grillables. Whether you're grilling steaks, chicken, or hearty veggies, this sauce brings a subtle buzz that complements the smoky flavors of the grill, reminiscent of the laid-back, joyous gatherings during my post-service days. It's all about bringing people together, sharing stories, and enjoying the moment. So, let's get to it.

ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, or whatever chicken pieces you want!
  • 1/4 c. Soy sauce (use tomato sauce for a gluten free option)
  • 3 Tbsp Drip Styx herb-infused honey
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon fresh rosemary, finely chopped (or herbs matching the infusion in your honey
  •   Salt and pepper to taste
  •   Fresh herbs and lemon slices for garnish

Instructions

  •   Marinate the Chicken: In a bowl, whisk together olive oil, soy sauce, herb-infused honey, minced garlic, lemon juice, chopped rosemary, salt, and pepper. Place chicken breasts in a large resealable bag or shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Ensure all pieces are well coated. Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, or up to 8 hours for deeper flavor.
  •   Prep Your Grill: Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Lightly oil the grill grate to prevent sticking.
  •   Grill the Chicken: Remove the chicken from the marinade, letting excess drip off. Grill chicken for 6-7 minutes on each side or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C), basting occasionally with the leftover marinade during the first few minutes of grilling.
  •   Rest & Serve: Let the chicken rest for a few minutes after grilling. Serve hot, garnished with fresh herbs and lemon slices. Drizzle with a bit more of your herb-infused honey for an extra flavor boost.
