As I sit at my kitchen table rolling a blunt and sorting through my bag of fireworks, I can’t help but look forward to this day of celebration, explosions, and barbecues. Reflecting on our freedoms here in America, I'm struck by how different things are now. In a world where we can freely consume cannabis in a medical environment right here in our home state of Oklahoma, we have much to be grateful for.
The Fourth of July is much more than fireworks and barbecues; it's also a day to honor the journey towards independence and the ongoing quest for liberty and justice. Here at Herbage Magazine we envision an entire world where cannabis is celebrated for its benefits.
This Independence Day feels especially meaningful as we celebrate not just the freedoms won throughout our nation's history, but also the growing freedoms we are experiencing right now with cannabis. The landscape is changing, and with each step forward, we're seeing more acceptance, understanding, and appreciation for what cannabis can offer. It's incredible to think that just a few short years ago, the idea of legally purchasing and using cannabis seemed like a distant dream.
While we've made huge steps in Oklahoma, our journey is far from over; and, we continue to push for further freedoms on a federal level. True freedom means nationwide acceptance and legalization, removing the stigma, and ensuring that everyone has access to the benefits of cannabis. WE are part of a movement that's shaping the future, advocating for the right to choose natural remedies and to live without judgment.
Recently, James Bridges, owner & publisher of Herbage Magazine, talked about what “True Freedom” means in his latest article. He talks about Descheduing rather than rescheduling and about it being more than legal rights; it's about the freedom to choose how we manage our health, the freedom to explore natural remedies, and the freedom to live our lives without stigma. As we celebrate Independence Day, let's also celebrate these freedoms and continue to advocate for a world where cannabis is fully embraced and accessible to all.
