Patients for Safe Access of Oklahoma: Fighting for Clean Cannabis in the Sooner State

By Summer Parker, Co-Founder

In Oklahoma, medical marijuana is both legal and thriving. But beneath the green rush, patients are still facing an uncomfortable truth: not every product on dispensary shelves is safe.

That’s where we come in. We are Patients for Safe Access of Oklahoma, a grassroots network of patients and advocates determined to hold the industry accountable. Our mission isn’t to defy the system—it’s to strengthen it. Because your health shouldn’t be compromised by contaminated or mislabeled cannabis products.

What Clean Cannabis Means to Us

For patients, trust in the medicine we consume is a lifeline. That trust, however, has been repeatedly tested. So we’ve taken matters into our own hands, conducting independent laboratory testing of cannabis products available at retail locations across the state.

Over the past two years, we’ve submitted more than 200 products for testing—including flower, concentrates, rolling papers, wraps, pre-roll cones, cigars, and even tobacco-based accessories. Leads often come from patients, caregivers, and concerned insiders who spot suspicious labels or questionable quality.

This is about protecting health—not playing politics.

Why Transparency Matters

The Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority runs a secret shopper program, but many feel it lacks transparency and urgency. We’re different. We publish our results openly and quickly, without spin.

When Oklahomans voted YES on SQ788, they voted for access to medicine—not exposure to pesticides, mold, or heavy metals. That’s why we operate with a core belief: zero tolerance for harmful chemicals in any product meant to be inhaled.

Most cannabis businesses in our state work hard to meet high standards, but the bad actors—the ones willing to cut corners for profit—endanger not just patients but the entire industry. By calling them out, we protect both.

How You Can Help

Testing costs money. Product acquisition, lab fees, reporting—none of it is free. While our volunteer network is growing, so is the demand for testing.

If you believe in clean cannabis and the right to safe, accurately labeled medicine, we invite you to stand with us.

Every dollar helps cover the cost of testing and reporting.

From all of us at Patients for Safe Access of Oklahoma, thank you for your support. Together, we can make safer medicine a reality for everyone.
