For years, H-Town Throw Down has brought racers and fans together, creating unforgettable memories in the world of street racing.

Registration and Event Details

Friday, October 25, 2024, kicks off the event with registration and tech inspection from 4:30 PM to 9:30 PM at the familiar American Flag Canopy at the starting line. On Friday night, participants will enjoy a cruise night in town for daily drivers and true street cars from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM. This cruise night offers an opportunity for enthusiasts to check out their favorite rides in action, while also validating registrations.

Tech will spot-check vehicles in the lanes on Saturday morning, October 26, 2024, with a driver’s meeting set for 9:30 AM at the starting line. Following the meeting, the event's first race begins. True street enthusiasts and daily drivers will chip-draw and kick off the action.

 Event Rules and Class Regulations

For those familiar with H-Town Throw Down, the rules remain largely consistent, with some notable additions for 2024. Daily Driver and True Street classes must attend the cruise night on Friday, with drivers needing to bring their license and insurance to registration for verification.

New rules include:

– No dealer tags, and all paper tags must be for the specific vehicle and up to date.

– Headlights, taillights, turn signals, and tag lights must be fully functional for both Daily Driver and True Street classes.

– Daily Driver vehicles must use DOT tires (drag radials allowed, but slicks are not).

– For all classes, safety rules are strictly enforced: no leaks, clean undercarriage, proper seatbelts, and a secured battery are a must. No passengers, drugs, or alcohol are allowed, with an automatic DQ for infractions.

The Powerwheels Showdown

One of the most anticipated features of H-Town Throw Down is the Powerwheels competition for children aged 4 to 10. This is a fun, family-friendly addition to the event, offering young racers a chance to take part in the excitement. There are two categories: Restricted Powerwheels and Unlimited Powerwheels. Both classes involve a 60-foot race and require participants to wear helmets.

– Restricted Powerwheels keeps things simple with standard builds and no live axles.

– Unlimited Powerwheels allows for more creativity, with live axles and modified chassis being permitted.

This thrilling mini-race offers a lighter-hearted contrast to the intensity of the main event and ensures even the youngest racing fans have a blast.

Event Classes and Payouts

With a 100% payback and an 80/20 split for each class, the stakes are high. Competitors can choose from a range of classes, including:

1. Daily Driver ($150 buy-in plus $40 registration)

2. True Street ($200 buy-in plus $40 registration)

3. Tailgate ($200 buy-in plus $40 registration)

4. Small Tire ($250 buy-in plus $40 registration)

5. Big Tire ($250 buy-in plus $40 registration)

Participants may only enter two classes per vehicle, with a guaranteed 15-minute cool-down between rounds for vehicles racing in multiple categories. This regulation ensures the event stays on schedule while maintaining a competitive environment.

For those seeking additional crew support, each registration includes two crew bands, with extra bands available for $15 each. This event offers a professional-level experience while maintaining an intimate connection to the grassroots spirit of street racing.

Safety First

Safety is paramount at H-Town Throw Down, and the organizers have implemented comprehensive rules to ensure every participant and spectator remains protected. All racers must have a helmet, harnesses, a racing suit, and working seatbelts. Vehicles must meet strict safety standards, including secured batteries, all lug nuts present, and functioning seatbelts.

There is zero tolerance for any part flying off a vehicle during a race; if debris affects the other driver, it results in an automatic DQ. For additional safety and professionalism, engine diapers are highly recommended to contain any potential spills.
