With the year we have all had, I think it’s safe to say that many of us have never thought about our health and wellness more than we have in 2020. This month we celebrate Thanksgiving, a holiday that calls us to focus on the good— the gifts life has thrown our way. I got the idea for the following activity when I was helping my daughters with a school assignment involving things they are grateful for.
There is so much I could say about Thanksgiving, but ultimately this holiday is meant to be shared, so instead I have an activity for you. Will you help spread gratitude in the cannabis community? Whether you’re a pediatric patient or an adult, I challenge all of our readers to answer these for themselves, and check below for what to do next!
⭐️ Name the first person who introduced you to cannabis:
⭐️ Name a grower or processor you are grateful for:
⭐️ Name a product or strain you are grateful for:
⭐️ Name a budtender you are grateful for:
⭐️ Name a fellow cannabis patient you are grateful for:
⭐️ Name a cannabis educator/veteran who has helped you, or someone you love, along the way:
⭐️ Name a legislator/politician/advocate (that has helped the cannabis community) who you are grateful for:
- If you have answered all of the above, you now have seven cannabis related people or things you are grateful for… which means you have enough to make a cannabis leaf. Think of this as an adapted version of the gratitude turkey activity. You can make your own with craft paper, or use ours on this page!
- Now that you have a list you are grateful for, you have seven ways you can give positive feedback to our beloved Oklahoma cannabis community. Take some time between now and thanksgiving to reach out to someone on your list and tell them why you are grateful.
- If you want to see more children have safe access to plant medicine, consider asking the people on your list where you can donate to make sure pediatric patients can afford the recommendations and license fees they need to get their OMMA licenses.
Thank you for supporting your local cannabis community and helping our medicine market continue to grow, but more than that, thank you for choosing plant medicine. We each may only be a drop in the bucket, but state by state we are changing the national conversation about cannabis; helping more and more people gain access to this powerful medicine. It’s truly something to be grateful for.
