Pairing Medicinal Herbs: Cannabis and Lavender; 5 Benefits

Posted on September 2, 2020 by Herbage

Cannabis, the ancient plant, also known as an herb, that has been healing since A.D. The plant that grows wild, has an endocannabinoid system just like humans, and can be used as medicine, fabric, fuel, and food. This plant has hundreds of benefits, but Cannabis paired with lavender, even more.

Medical News Today, describes lavender as: an herb native to northern Africa and the mountainous regions of the Mediterranean. Lavender is a plant like Cannabis, that hasn’t been approved by the FDA. But, research supports that lavender has a lot of medicinal value, specifically linked to pain and anxiety.

Why Combining Medicinal Herbs is Beneficial

Cannabis paired with lavender can be great! They both hold a powerful terpene: linalool. Linalool is a terpene that carries: anti-anxiety, anti-convulsant (a diverse group of pharmacological agents used in the treatment of epileptic seizures, bipolar disorder, and borderline personality disorder) and anti-depressant properties, to name a few. When linalool is from Cannabis- THC, it has great muscle relaxing benefits. When linalool is from Cannabis- CBD, anti-convulsant benefits are heightened.

Medicinal

Combining Cannabis and Lavender- 5 Benefits

1.) Ultimate relief: Cannabis and lavender separately, have huge anti-stress properties. Combined, they make for the ultimate stress reliver. This holds true for smoking, oil, and topical.

2.) Anti-inflammation: Linalool, discussed above, is also great for inflammation, meaning, linalool plays as an anti-inflammatory terpene and combining Cannabis and lavender create the ultimate anti-inflammatory treatment.

3.) Restful sleep: Cannabis and lavender both have amazing stress and anxiety relief properties that contribute towards restful sleep.

4.) Mood lifter/stabilizer: the terpenes, cannabinoids, and overall medicinal value of both plants lead toward mood elevation; stress relief and pain relief alone boost moods.

5.) Immune system health: cannabis paired with lavender means lots of linalool, and linalool is said to make the immune system more resilient to the destructive effects of stress.

From experience, I can say that Cannabis and CBD work so good together. I make capsules with Cannabis and lavender, and the relaxation felt is amazing!
